Condition for Admission
AGE REQUIREMENT There is no minimum age bar for admission to under graduate courses in the University and its Colleges.
The upper age limit for admission to the first year classes will ordinarily be 20 years for boys and 22 years for girls on Oct. 1, 2009.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS (Subject to revision by the University)
A candidate who has passed one of the following examinations can be considered for admission to the first year of
B.A. Programme/B.Sc. Programme/B.A. (Hons.)Programme/B.Sc. (Hons.)/B.Com. (Hons.) course :
- Senior school certificate examination (Class XII) of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi
or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto,
OR Pre-University Examination (2 years after 10 years of schooling) of an Indian University recognized by the University of Delhi,
OR Intermediate Examination of an Indian University/Board or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto. - Indian school Certificate Examination (class XII) of The Council of Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
- General Certificate of Education Examination of the U.K.
- Passed in five subjects at Ordinary level.
and - at least in two subjects at the Advanced level. These two advanced courses may either be chosen from among the five Ordinary level subjects or from outside this group as prescribed by the University of Delhi.
NOTES : - Application from students who have not passed from the above mentioned examination bodies may be considered if accompanied by an Eligibility Certificate issued by the University of Delhi.
- Students passing an eleven year school examination are not eligible for admission to undergraduate course in the University of Delhi.

* 1. For B.A.(Hons) Programme Sanskrit, candidates securing 40% marks in the aggregate and 50% in Sanskrit are also eligible. Candidates who have passed the Intermediate Examination with at least 40% marks in theaggregate and have passed 'Shastri' examination are also eligible.
* 2. For B.A.(Hons) Hindi, candidates securing 40% marks with aggregate and 50% in Hindi are also eligible.Candidates who have passed the Intermediate Examination with at least 40% marks in the aggregate and have passed 'Prabhakar' examination are also eligible.
RESERVATION OF SEATS In each course, seats are reserved as per following details:

*For admission to these categories, the candidates have to register directly with the University. These admissions are centralized and the University allots students to different colleges.
ADMISSION FOR PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED CANDIDATES The candidates seeking admission against the reserved quota for the physically challenged category are advised to apply directly to the Office of the Dean, Students Welfare (Main Campus), New Examination Hall, Near University Main Gate.
A candidate seeking admission under this category needs to fulfill same requirements for admission as for the general candidates except for a relaxation of 5% marks in the cut off percentage notified.
ADMISSION TO FOREIGN STUDENTS Admission of foreign students is handled by the Foreign Students' Adviser, Foreign Students' Registry, Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007. No foreign student is admitted by the college unless he/she produces a letter from the Foreign Students' Adviser, University of Delhi, regarding his/her eligibility.
ADMISSION ON THE BASIS OF SPORTS/CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES - All applications for consideration on the basis of sports/co-curricular activities will be made on a
separate form with 3 photographs. - The admission basis for sports/co-curricular activities shall be finalized by the college on the recommendation of respective sports/co-curricular activities committee, after screening/evaluating the applications, holding interviews and trials on the ground/stage. The dates for interviews, trials etc. shall be put on the college notice board.
The admission will be strictly on the basis of Evaluation Chart (for sports) approved by the University. - All sports certificates must be duly verified by the Head of the Institution last attended and by the issuing authority. All applications along with Sports Certificates may be sent to the Convener of the University Sports Admission Committee for scrutiny.
- The Sports Certificates should contain the photograph of the Sportsman/Sportswoman duly attested by the respective issuing authority and the head of the Institution last attended.
- Any student submitting false/forged/fake certificates will be debarred from admission to any course in any college for 3 years. If he/she is admitted, his/her admission will be cancelled. Such cases will be notified to all colleges.
- Every student will have to bring original certificates at the time of screening.
- The level of competence in sports will be determined only in case of those candidates who have achieved distinction in sports during the last three years. Preference will be given to the sports activities, in which Delhi University, Inter-College and Inter-University competitions are held.
- Participated by representing India in any event/game at the International level (certificate to be submitted from the Ministry of Sports/Federations).
- Participated in any event/game in Junior National Championship (certificate to be submitted from the National Federation of concerned games).
- Participated in the Winners or Runners up Team, securing 1st, 2nd or 3rd position in individual events in National Schools Game/s (certificate to be submitted from the National School Games Federation/Directorate of Education of the concerned State).
- Participated in the All India Rural Sports and Women Sports festival securing 1st, 2nd or 3rd position in individual event or team (certificate to be submitted from the National Institute of Sports).
- Participated and secured 1st, 2nd or 3rd position in Inter-Zonal Tournaments/or 1st, 2nd or 3rd position in individual event (certificate to be submitted from the Directorate of Education of the concerned State).
Preference for admission will be given in the following order to those who:
- A merit list of the students selected for admission to various courses on the basis of sports /co-curricular activities will be displayed on the college notice board.
A committee at the University level has been set up to scrutinize and supervise all admissions made on sports basis in colleges and to look into the complaints, if any.
NOTE: The level of competition in case of Sainik School, Kendriya Vidyalaya and Public School maybe considered along with last category, i.e. VII (e) above.
