Admission Process

ADMISSION
  • All applicants seeking admission to the 1st year of B.A. Programme/B.Sc. Programme/B.A. (Hons.)Programme/B.Sc.(Hons)/B.Com (Hons.) course can apply on the Preliminary Admission Form-2009 enclosed with the college prospectus or they may use the Common Pre-Admission Form issued by the University of Delhi. The applicants are advised to carefully read the Information Bulletin issued by the University of Delhi and College Prospectus for the year 2009-2010.
  • Sale and Receipt of application forms will be started by the college office from 1.6.2009 on all working days between 10 a.m. and 1.p.m. Any candidate who has not applied for admission within the above mentioned stipulated time shall not be considered for admission.
  • The college admission committee would decide the cut off percentages for admission to different courses and the same would be notified on the college notice board as per schedule given on the inside cover page of the prospectus. The  same may be accessed from the college website (www.deshbandhucollege.ac.in).
  • The candidates with their percentage of marks equal to or more than the notified cut off percentage are advised to report to the teacher-in-charge of admission for the course (name of the teacher and the room number would be put up on the notice board).
  • Admission will be made strictly on merit.
  • Those selected for admission will be required to fill in the Admission form enclosed with the prospectus. The following documents are to be submitted with the application form in original along with the self-attested photocopies :
    1. Provisional Certificate from the school/college last attended.
    2. Mark sheet of last examination passed (two self-attested photocopies).
    3. Class X certificate as a proof of age.
    4. A separate character certificate from the institution last attended in case it is not a part of provisional certificate.
    5. Three recent passport size photographs.
    6. School/College leaving Certificate/University Migration Certificate. In case the Migration Certificate is not available at the time of admission, it must be submitted within a month of admission in original.
    7. In case of scheduled caste/tribe candidates, the caste/tribe certificate in the  name of the candidate.
    8. Eligibility certificate by University of Delhi wherever necessary.
NOTES :
  1. Candidates who have passed 10+2 exam  from boards other than C.B.S.E. / I.C.S.E. will be required to get their mark sheets verified by the resident commissioners of their area if their board results are not available on the Internet.
  2. Applicants admitted to the college will have to deposit the prescribed admission fee within a period specified in the notice of admission. Failure to deposit fee within the specified period will automatically lead to cancellation of admission.
  3. Photocopies of Certificates should be duly self-attested.
  4. Candidates seeking admission are requested to report directly to the respective Teacher-in-charge.
  5. Candidates resorting to unfair practices in seeking admission to the college will be disqualified.
  6. Applicants are advised, in their own interest, to carefully consider all aspects before seeking admission to any particular course.
  7. The decision of the Admission Committee shall be final in all matters regarding admissions.
CANCELLATION OF ADMISSION / REFUND OF FEE
A student who wishes to leave the college must apply with photograph on the prescribed Application form for cancellation of admission duly countersigned by father/guardian failing which no refund shall be made. In such a case the refund will be made only after due deductions in accordance with the University rules as follows:
  1. If the Application form for cancellation is submitted in the college office on or before 31st July of the year of admission, a sum of Rs. 5/- only will be deducted and rest of the fees will be refunded by cheque in due course.
  2. If the Application form for cancellation is submitted between 1st and 14th August of the year of admission, a sum of Rs.30/- only will be deducted and rest of the fees will be refunded by cheque in due course.
  3. If the Application form for cancellation is submitted after 14th August of the year of admission , only Security Deposit and Residual Tuition Fees will be refunded by cheque in due course.
REFUND OF SECURITY DEPOSIT
  • The refund of security deposit can be claimed within one year of leaving college or passing out. In case the claim is not made within the stipulated time the security deposit will be forfeited.
  • The deposit would be refunded only after making due deductions, if any, on account of arrears of fee, loss or damage to library books or any other item.
  • The college identity card has to be surrendered at the time of seeking refund of security deposit.
MIGRATION/TRANSFER
  • Migrations from other universities will be allowed if seats are available. The last date for Inter-University migration is 31st December. No direct admission in Second year Honours Courses are allowed as per Delhi University rules.
  • Transfer from B.A. / B.Sc. Honours IInd year to BA / B.Sc. Programme IInd year and vice-versa is permissible as per the University rules.
  • Migration to other colleges in second year ordinarily will not be allowed.
IDENTITY CARD
  1. "Every student must always carry the Identity Card with himself /herself.
  2. Every student has to produce the Identity Card whenever demanded by the Teachers/Library staff/Office/Security staff at the gates. Failure to produce the identity card will lead to punishment.
  3. Fresh Identity card will be made every year. The new Identity Card will be issued only on submission of the earlier one. In case a student is unable to produce his/her earlier card, he/she will have to pay a fine of Rs. 100/- to get a new one.
  4. In case of mutilation, a penalty of Rs. 100/- will be charged for issue of duplicate Identity Card.
  5. In case of loss of the Identity Card, a duplicate card will be issued only after a copy of FIR is produced.
  6. The Identity Card is to be surrendered by each student on leaving the college. Security refund will not be given till the student surrenders his/her Identity Card.
  7. Any change of address should be immediately communicated by the students to college office.
