Department of Botany

The Department of Botany has created a niche for itself by achieving high academic as well as excellence in co-curricular standards. Enriched by the legacy of some very renowned teachers in the past, the department is proud to have a committed faculty which has excelled in research, book-writing and teaching. With well equipped three state-of-the-art laboratories, the Department is a centre for foundation laying of basic concepts, which goes a long way in helping our students in their higher academic pursuits.

The Department pursues a mantra of holistic development of a student, inculcation of a scientific temper by supplementing the conventional classroom teaching with botanical excursions, seminars, guest lectures, slide shows, botanical fests, quiz competitions, scientific debates etc. to help a student metamorphose his personality.

A course in Botany being an important component of life sciences, offers immense opportunities for further studies in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Plant Molecular Biology, Genomics, Agroforestry, Environmental Science and other related fields.
